The Role of Color in Interior Composition
· VL Fabrics Editorial Team
Colour sets the mood of a room, and the same fabric can look different in different light.
Warm neutrals such as ivory, taupe and natural linen make a quiet backdrop for furniture and art. Deep tones such as green, burgundy and navy add depth. Cooler colours like sage and slate suit contemporary rooms.
Judge a fabric against the walls, floor and furniture it will sit with, and look at it at different times of day before you decide. A small sample held up at the window is a better guide than a screen.
